Job summary

Seneca Health Care Center, part of The McGuire Group, is seeking a Cook to join our culinary team in West Seneca, NY. You will prepare nutritious, high-quality meals for residents, following production sheets and therapeutic diets while maintaining safety and efficiency in a fast-paced kitchen.

We offer a full-time schedule (6 am-2 pm or 12 pm-8 pm) with competitive hourly pay ($17.60-$20.13) and benefits including PTO, health/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, and a retirement plan.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Culinary school graduate preferred.
• 6 months kitchen experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve menu items according to production sheets, standardized recipes, therapeutic diets, and modified food consistencies.
• Ensure proper food handling, portion control, storage, labeling, dating, and temperature monitoring per regulations.
• Assist with inventory management, stocking, and proper storage of food and supplies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen following infection control procedures.
• Prepare meals for special events and functions.
• Monitor kitchen equipment and report hazards or incidents.
• Provide guidance to Dietary Aides in the absence of supervisory staff.
• Support quality improvement and compliance with facility policies and procedures.

• Monitor kitchen equipment and report hazards, maintenance concerns, accidents, or incidents
• Provide guidance and oversight to Dietary Aides in the absence of supervisory staff
• Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with facility policies and procedures

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent; Culinary School graduate preferred
• Minimum experience requirement: 6 months working in a kitchen
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets, modified food consistencies, portion control, and food safety practices preferred
• Familiarity with HACCP regulations and safe food handling procedures preferred
• Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
• Commitment to providing excellent service to residents, families, and staff
