Job summary

Santiam Hospital & Clinics is seeking a full-time Cook to join our dietary team on-site in Stayton, OR. You will lead meal preparation for staff and patients, following HACCP guidelines, and ensure timely service and clean-up of meals and catering events.

The ideal candidate has two years of cooking experience, a valid Food Service Handler’s Card, and strong communication skills. This role emphasizes a clean-as-you-go workspace, patient confidentiality, and ongoing orientation and training.

Qualifications

• Two years of cooking experience preferred (restaurant, school, hospital).
• Marion County Health Department Food Service Handler’s Card required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to participate in Hospital orientation and in-service trainings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare assigned meals for staff and patients following HACCP guidelines.
• Serve the hot portion of the patient’s meal according to diet and preferences.
• Set up, prepare, serve, and clean up catered meals in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area with a clean-as-you-go policy.
• Protect patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA.
