Job summary

Santiam Hospital & Clinics in Stayton, OR seeks a Telemetry Monitoring Technician for a full-time day shift (6:00 AM–6:30 PM). You will monitor telemetry across the hospital, interpret rhythms, and document in the medical record, supporting our multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidate has National Telemetry Certification or Nurse Aide/MA program, hospital monitor experience, and the ability to stay focused in a busy setting.

Qualifications

  • National Telemetry Certification required prior to hire or within 3 months.
  • Nurse Aide or Medical Assistant program completion required.
  • Healthcare setting experience preferred.
  • Acute care facility experience required.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful environments.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent oral, written, and reading communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Independently observe and interpret cardiac rhythms and document in patient records.
  • Respond to monitor alarms and communicate changes to nurse/physician for intervention.
  • Document EKG waveforms and measurements; identify rhythms such as NSR, VT, A-Fib, etc.
  • Set up and operate telemetry and ECG equipment; ensure alarms are on.
  • Orient staff to central monitoring capabilities and Telemetry Monitor Tech role.
  • Perform clerical duties as assigned.
  • Troubleshoot monitoring equipment and resolve simple problems.
