Job summary

Live Well Healthcare Solutions at Chestnut Woods Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a skilled Cook to join our culinary team. You will prepare a wide variety of meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, portion food, plate and garnish, and ensure meals are visually appealing and served on time.

This is a full-time role with a demanding schedule, including Weekday and Saturday shifts from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Sunday 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM with possible flexibility.

Qualifications

  • Classically trained and experienced in a high-volume culinary environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently cook an assortment of meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Prepare and portion food products prior to cooking
  • Plate and garnish cooked items, and prepare appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates
  • Act as a liaison for the Dietary Manager in their absence to ensure accurate meal prep and delivery
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Follow standardized recipes and ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Handle last-minute requests for special events and adjust menu accordingly
  • Rotate stock and manage inventory
  • Participate in recipe development and compliance initiatives

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing a wide variety of meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Your duties will include preparing and portioning food products, plating and garnishing cooked items, and ensuring that all food is presented in a visually appealing and appetizing manner.

  • Full-time position: 5 days per week. Weekday and Saturday availability is from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Weekends required. Sunday availability is currently 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM but may become flexible.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
