Job summary

Pines of Sarasota is seeking a qualified Cook for its resident dining program. The role involves preparing, cooking and serving meals for residents, including regular and therapeutic diets, following planned menus and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of institutional cook experience, ability to produce large quantities, and strong documentation skills. Benefits include health coverage, vision, dental, and on-site daycare discounts.

  • Must be able to cook a wide variety of foods in large quantities.

Responsibilities

  • The cook is responsible for preparing, cooking and serving residents’ meals.
  • Prepares and cooks meals for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu for meals and snacks.
  • Prepares food using proper food handling and safety techniques.
  • Checks trays during food service to assure that meals are served accurately in accordance with the menu and with the resident’s diet order and food preference. Assures that meals are served in an attractive and appetizing manner.
  • Maintains the proper temperature of food during preparation and service. Records temperature of food in accordance with department policy.
