A leading foundation in San Antonio, dedicated to supporting individuals living with HIV, is seeking a Cook. The position involves food preparation for clients, ensuring safety and cleanliness while working within a culturally competent environment. Applicants should be ready to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
The San Antonio AIDS Foundation seeks to reduce HIV transmission, provide support and treatment for those living with HIV, reduce stigma and support positive sexual health. SAAF provides sexual health education, STI and HIV testing and counseling, medical care, case management, housing and meal support, mental health services and referrals for dental health. Access to care and early intervention have a significant impact on the health and well-being of people living with HIV.
Position
SAAF provides three meals per day, seven days per week, 365 days per year to people living with HIV. The Cook is responsible for food preparation and assists the Director of Food Services with meal planning and food and supply ordering.
This position demands a high level of cultural competency of the unique needs of the LGBTQIA++ community, communities of color, and other marginalized populations.

This job operates in a professional environment. Early morning, evening and / or weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to lift; stand; walk; sit; and bend. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
SAAF works daily with clients who may be immunocompromised. While evidence of COVID-19 vaccination is not required, employee may be asked to wear a mask while in the office.
