Job summary

Monarch Mountain's Food & Beverage department is hiring cooks for the winter season in a fast-paced mountain environment. Prepare food for Gunbarrel, Elmo’s, Sidewinder Saloon, and Java Stop with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Candidates must be 18+, legally eligible to work in the United States, and hold a HS diploma or GED. Able to lift up to 35 lbs, stand long hours, and work at elevations up to 12,000 feet. Starts at $19 per hour with benefits including a Monarch Season Pass.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Legal citizen or valid work permit for the United States.
• HS diploma or GED required; college degree not required.
• Ability to push, lift, and move up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods and operate hot cooking appliances.
• Work at elevations up to 12,000 feet with exposure to severe weather.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food items for Gunbarrel, Elmo’s, Sidewinder Saloon, and Java Stop in a timely, consistent manner.
• Work as a team with other Food & Beverage staff.
• Observe health and sanitation rules and food safety procedures.
• Maintain stocked, rotated, and prepared food items daily.
• Interact with Monarch guests politely, processing orders quickly and courteously.

Cooks should have a positive attitude, enjoy preparing quality food, and strive for a clean and organized work environment. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES:**The Cook responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:* Prepare all food items for the Gunbarrel, Elmo’s, Sidewinder Saloon, and/or Java Stop in a timely and consistent manner.* Work as a team with other members of the Food & Beverage department.* Observe and practice all health and sanitation rules and regulation regarding food handling, cleaning, and safety procedures.* Keep all food items appropriately stocked, rotated, and prepared every day.* Communicate with Monarch Ski Area guests in a polite and professional manner as well as processing their food orders quickly and courteously.* Other duties as assigned.
