Job summary

Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center is seeking an experienced Cook to join our Food Services team. This opportunity includes a full-time 37.5-hour week (5:30 AM–1:30 PM) with some flexibility, and a part-time 20-hour option.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals following menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.
• Ensure food is ready and served on time.
• Follow therapeutic diet requirements when preparing meals.
• Check and record food and storage temperatures.
• Keep the kitchen, equipment, and work areas clean and sanitized.
• Manage food substitutions, supplements, and leftover food appropriately.
• Maintain attractive food presentation.
• Provide friendly service and help create a welcoming, home-like environment for residents.
• Protect resident privacy and follow HIPAA guidelines.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, infection control, and Fairhaven policies.

Pay

$17.30 - $18.75 per hour

What You’ll Do

• Food service sanitation certification or course completion.

Work Environment

• Kitchen and dining room settings.
• Regular exposure to hot equipment, steam, and hot water.
• Typical healthcare environment serving older adults.
