Rite of Passage Team is hiring a Cook for Canyon State Academy in Queen Creek, Arizona. The role focuses on preparing healthy meals and ensuring compliance with school lunch program requirements.

The Cook will manage food prep, maintain sanitary conditions across kitchen and dining areas, and uphold safety standards while supporting inventory and equipment upkeep.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must possess a current State Driver’s License and have a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass criminal background clearance, drug screen, TB test and health checks.

Responsibilities

• Cook healthy and tasty meals per federal and local school meal program rules.
• Prep and cook food and maintain sanitary kitchen, dining, storage and related areas.
• Ensure equipment is in good repair and areas are kept clean and compliant.
• Maintain inventory logs and ensure safety data sheets where applicable.
• Provide good customer service and follow company policies and procedures.

Description

Rite of Passage Team is Hiring for a Cook atCanyon State Academy inQueen Creek, Arizona

What you will do: The Cook ensures that healthy and tasty food is prepared in accordance with all Federal, State, Local, Tribal, and national School Lunch and Breakfast Program requirements. Performs duties in the prepping and cooking of food. Maintains the entire dining and preparation facility in a constant state of sanitary acceptance. This includes, but is not limited to, the kitchen, dining room, storage, outside areas, garbage area, garbage cans and all loading docks. Ensures that all areas are maintained in a sanitary condition that meets or exceeds the requirements set forth by Federal, State, Local and Tribal regulations. Ensures that the working condition of all food preparation equipment and laundry equipment is in good repair. Ensures all floors, walls, serving lines, heating and air conditioning equipment and cleanliness of bathrooms and windows within the facility meets or exceeds requirements. Maintains a daily and monthly inventory log of all supplies, materials and equipment to ensure all items are accounted for. Maintains a materials safety data sheet, if applicable. Ensures customer service is maintained at a level that meets or exceeds each customer’s expectations. Complies with and implements the Rite of Passage Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals/handbooks.

Canyon State Academy is located on a scenic 180-acre campus surrounded by Farm student housing for 300 + youth, a Thrift Store, Café, Barbershop and Church open to the community incorporating life skills for our students. Along with a fully equipped weight room, football stadium, an athletic center (gymnasium, padded wrestling room & more).

Schedule

• Five days on/two days off

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must have:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Must possess a current State Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years.
• Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical and TB test.
