Job summary

Rite of Passage Brand is seeking a Cook for Lava Heights Academy in Toquerville, Utah. The role focuses on preparing healthy meals respecting all sanitation standards, in a residential setting for youth.

The position requires 2–5 years in culinary/food service and full compliance with safety checks. The schedule runs Friday through Monday on 12-hour shifts, with competitive benefits including medical, dental, vision, Life Insurance, 401(k) with match, and PTO.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of experience in culinary / food service.
• Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
• Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Lava Heights Academy is a residential treatment program that provides a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for vulnerable young women who are referred from juvenile courts and social service agencies both locally and across the country. The youth enter the program with a history of abuse, neglect, trauma, substance abuse, mental illness and violence. They graduate from Falcon Ridge Ranch as educated young women who have overcome challenges and have demonstrated making healthy choices for themselves and for their future.

Pay

$18.00 per hour.

What you will do

Ensures that healthy and tasty food is prepared in accordance with all Federal, State, Local, and National School Lunch and Breakfast Program requirements. Performs duties in the prepping and cooking of food. Maintains the entire dining and preparation facility in a constant state of sanitary acceptance. This includes,but is not limited to, the kitchen, dining room, storage, outside areas, garbage area, garbage cans and allloading docks.Ensures that the working condition of all food preparation equipment is in good repair.Maintains a daily and monthly inventory log of all supplies, materials and equipment to ensure all items areaccounted for. Maintains a materials safety data sheet, if applicable.

To be considered you should

• Be at least 21 years of age
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• If required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, must meet the requirements to be an eligible ROP driver
• Must possess a current State Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years
• 2 to 5 years of experience in culinary / food service
• Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test
• Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.

Schedule

• Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday
• 12 hours shift
• 6:00am to 6:00pm
