Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Set up and stock assigned cooking stations before service.
  • Prepare ingredients including meats, seafood, vegetables, sauces, soups, and other food items.
  • Cook food to the proper temperature and ensure consistent quality.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards.
  • Properly store, label, date, and rotate food products.
  • Monitor food quality and freshness throughout preparation and service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station at all times.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food deliveries as needed.
  • Minimize food waste and use products efficiently.
  • Communicate with servers, kitchen staff, supervisors, and management regarding food orders and special requests.
  • Follow special dietary requests and allergy procedures when applicable.
  • Assist other kitchen employees as needed to maintain smooth service.
  • Clean and sanitize cooking equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and kitchen areas.
  • Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef, Kitchen Manager, or General Manager.

Work Environment

This position works in a commercial hotel kitchen and may be exposed to heat, steam, cold temperatures, sharp equipment, cleaning chemicals, and other typical kitchen conditions. The position requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying throughout the shift.

Schedule

Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and during periods of high occupancy or special events as business needs require.
