Job summary

Milestone is seeking a Cook to join our culinary team at our senior living community. Under the Director of Culinary Services, you will prepare and serve meals meeting nutritional and safety standards and ensure resident satisfaction.

This role supports dining operations while maintaining a safe, clean, welcoming environment. Requirements include a high school diploma, 1 year food service experience (3 years preferred), Food Handler’s Permit as required by state, First Aid certification, and

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of food service experience; three years preferred.
• Food Handler’s Permit (as required by state).
• First Aid certification required.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to approved menus and dietary requirements.
• Ensure food is stored, cooked, and served at proper temperatures.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment, including all equipment and prep areas.
• Assist in training and mentoring culinary staff.
• Monitor and respond to resident preferences and satisfaction.
• Uphold safety and health standards, including food safety compliance.
• Foster teamwork and a positive, collaborative work environment.
• Report elder maltreatment or abuse as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About the Role

Under the direction of the Director of Culinary Services, the Cook prepares and serves meals that meet nutritional and safety standards while ensuring resident satisfaction. This role supports culinary operations and dining services while maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
