Eden East is hiring a PRN Cook for Edenbrook Greenwood Hill in Pottsville, PA. Join a family-like team focused on resident well-being and quality care in a post-acute setting.

We seek a positive, reliable cook with kitchen experience who understands the impact of our work on residents. This role is in person and scheduled as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as cook.
• Experience using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware.
• Knowledge of cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling).
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Very good communication skills.
• Excellent physical condition and stamina.
• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat).
• Cook food in various utensils or grillers.
• Check food while cooking to stir or turn.
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before serving.
• Keep a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment.
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
• Check quality of ingredients.
• Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages.
