Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be ServSafe Certified or willing to become ServSafe Certified.
• 1 year experience in a healthcare food service setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks meals and snacks for residents, staff, and visitors, ensuring dietary requirements and preferences are met.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
• Collaborate with the dietary team to plan menus and may assist with special events or themed meals.
• Directs, evaluates and disciplines Dietary Assistants to assure proper meal preparation.
• Monitors Dietary Departments proper functioning to ensure quality service.
• Works closely with Assistant Director and Director of Food Services to ensure adherence to policy and quality of service.

Your Role as a Cook:

At Edgewood Center for Rehab and Healthcare, our Cook provides essential care to our residents by:
