Oaks Senior Living is currently recruiting kind-hearted, experienced cooks who have a passion for working with seniors. We are now offering a $1,000 Sign-on Bonus ($500 after 90 days of service and $500 after 6 months of service).

Position Summary :

The Cook will assist with the preparation, serving, and handling of food in accordance with federal and state regulations and the dietary program implemented by Oaks Senior Living policies and procedures. The Cook will maintain a clean and sanitized dining service area and assist in the receiving, rotation, and storage of products.

Qualifications :

• Experience in cooking for large groups.
• Desire to work with older adults.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Friendly, caring disposition.
• Must be 18 years of age. Must have a satisfactory criminal history check.
• Must have a physical exam by a licensed physician. Must have a negative drug screen.
• Ability to react in emergency situations.

Primary Responsibilities :

Food Preparation and Dining Service

• Assist with cooking and serving food according to nutritional guidelines, local health regulations, and residents' individual prescribed diets and food preferences.
• Assist with delivering quality meals, snacks, and special diets as directed by the Food Service Director.
• Help present food in an appetizing and attractive manner.
• Foster residents' independence with eating by providing adaptive equipment.
• Ensure food is delivered on time and in a pleasant manner.
• Prepare food and coordinate food service for special events as requested.
• Notify the Food Service Director or Lead Cook of any malfunctioning kitchen equipment or appliances.
