Job Description
At Accolade Healthcare, the cook prepares meals for residents and their families, ensuring adherence to diet orders. The cook also oversees dining services staff when managers are absent.

Responsibilities
- Prepare meals according to recipes.
- Start and end shifts punctually.
- Demonstrate leadership skills.
- Follow uniform policy.
- Complete required paperwork.
- Prepare food for service.
- Serve meals in designated dining areas.
- Present food attractively.
- Follow dietary spreadsheets and resident orders.
- Assist with salads and desserts.
- Set up dining areas post-meal.
- Operate kitchen and dining equipment properly.
- Communicate effectively with staff, residents, families, and guests.
- Follow safety and sanitation regulations.
- Perform cleaning and closing procedures.
- Report equipment needs and supply shortages.
- Attend mandatory training and evaluations.
- Communicate in English effectively.
Working Conditions
- Stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds; reasonable accommodations available.
- Exposure to blood, body fluids, fumes, chemicals; moderate noise level.
- Work weekends and holidays on rotation.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience in food service required.
- Minimum 2 years of cook experience preferred.
- Food Handler Certification required or to be obtained.
