Job summary

The Arbor Company is seeking a Cook to join our dining team, delivering high-quality meals for residents in a respectful, caring environment.

You will prepare meals per established recipes, assist with stock and inventory, and ensure cleanliness and safety standards are consistently met. The role requires kitchen know-how, attention to diet needs, and strong resident relations.

Qualifications

• Culinary degree or training; experience cooking in a restaurant environment preferred.
• Knowledge of kitchen basics, sanitation, food handling, portion control and cooking procedures.
• Experience with special diets and large batch cooking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide food service and prepare meals using established recipes and menus.
• Assist with stock deliveries, rotation of products and regulatory log requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards through established schedules and protocols.
• Communicate with the Dining Director on prep, production and service flow.

You’ll be great on this team because you have:

• Culinary degree or training, or experience cooking in a restaurant environment preferred
• Knowledge of kitchen basics, sanitation, food handling, portion control, and cooking procedures.
• Previous experience with special diets and long-term care is preferred.
• Previous experience with large batch cooking (100 people) at plus.
• Ability to maintain positive resident relations through a courteous, cooperative and understanding manner.
