Job summary

Hope Center in Bronx, NY is seeking a Cook to prepare, cook, and serve a variety of foods in a healthcare setting. You will bake rolls, cookies, cakes, and pies, and work on the tray line during meal service.

You will ensure sanitation and cleanliness, hand wash pots and pans, and support the food service director in their absence. Certification in healthcare cooking and at least one year of large-scale cooking experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Certification in healthcare cooking (SERV Safe or Sodexo).
• Minimum one year of experience in large-scale cooking.
• Strong knowledge of large-scale and therapeutic food prep.
• Must be able to do some physical work.
• Should be a strong team player.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Will manage Kitchen in absence of food service director.
