Job summary

Creative Dining Services on-site at Northwood University is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our campus culinary team in Midland, MI. You will prepare items per established recipes, manage batch cooking, and maintain sanitation while supporting fellow kitchen staff in a fast-paced environment.

The position offers full-time hourly pay with opportunities for growth and campus-wide perks, including tuition assistance and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 2 years of culinary experience.
• ServSafe Certification Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious food items by following established recipes and menus, ensuring freshness and quality.
• Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment at all times.
• Open and/or close the kitchen as required, securing equipment and areas.
• Support other kitchen staff to ensure essential kitchen functions are performed.
• Build strong relationships with students, staff, and campus partners.

Schedule: Saturday: 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM /Sunday - Wednesday: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM / 30-40 hours per week

Fall Semester: August - December

Winter/Spring Semester: January - May

• If work shift requires, properly open and/or close the kitchen – unlocking/locking doors & secured areas, and turning on/turning off of all equipment essential to the operation
• Support other kitchen employees in assuring that the essential functions of the kitchen are performed adequately and appropriately
• Build strong relationships with students, staff, and campus partners
