Job summary

West Gables Rehabilitation Hospital in Miami, FL is seeking a Hospital Cook to prepare meals for patients, staff and guests within a compassionate inpatient rehab setting. You will supervise dietary staff in the manager’s absence, ensuring proper sanitation, safety and infection control and adhering to department policies.

The position is full-time with 8-hour shifts. Compensation ranges from $18.87 to $23 per hour, based on experience, with comprehensive benefits and career growth opportunities

Qualifications

  • One year of cooking experience required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Culinary Arts degree preferred.
  • Completion of state or local food safety training course preferred.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare foods for patients, staff and guests and assist with cleaning of cooking and eating areas.
  • In the absence of the Manager, supervise the dietary staff and ensure sanitation, safety and infection control policies.
  • Maintain high quality food production, portion control, and respond proactively to requests.

You will prepare foods for patients, staff, and guests, and may assist with general cleaning of the cooking and eating areas. In the absence of the Manager, the Cook supervises the dietary staff, ensuring that our facility and departmental policies and procedures are adhered to, and that proper sanitation, safety and infection control policies are being followed.

Minimum Qualifications


  • One (1) year cooking experience required.
