About the Opportunity
Our senior living community seeks a Cook to join our dedicated team. The role focuses on delivering efficient, timely, and friendly service to residents and staff while maintaining high standards of sanitation, safety, and food quality.
Responsibilities
- Ensure efficient, timely, and friendly service for all residents and staff.
- Maintain proper sanitation and safety procedures and high‑quality food preparation and presentation.
- Order, receive, and rotate stock in conjunction with the Food Service Director.
- Read and follow recipes to ensure consistency of the product.
- Prepare and serve food items for breakfast, lunch or dinner as assigned.
- Assist with meeting or exceeding resident dining expectations.
- Be knowledgeable in food preparation techniques and presentation.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor.

- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Willingness to learn new food preparation techniques and presentation methods.
- Knowledge of special dietary needs of residents and appropriate meal prep techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a team and display team behaviors.
- Ability to handle conflict or customer complaints constructively.
- Ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Follow all food safety and equipment safety procedures.
- Knowledge of and compliance with community quality standards and requirements.
- Ability to short‑order cook.
- Dependable, punctual, self‑motivated, and able to work without constant supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of cooking experience (short‑order and quantity cooking).
- Serv‑Safe certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
