Job summary

Home of the Innocents in Louisville, KY is seeking a reliable Cook to join our team. You will follow recipes, prepare and serve meals, and help maintain high standards of food safety and quality for residents and staff.

The successful candidate will have strong teamwork, basic math skills, and the ability to adapt to the needs of residents, families, and visitors. A high school diploma is preferred, and Serv-Safe certification is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication).
  • Ability to adapt to residents, staff, and visitors.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Serv-Safe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow recipes, prepare and serve food as directed by kitchen staff.
  • Ensure quality food service by adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Prep and cook meal items as directed by Kitchen Manager or Director of Food Services.
  • Complete necessary paperwork, data collection, and temperature logs daily.
  • Maintain cleanliness in work areas and proper storage of equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Follow all food safety procedures, including proper handwashing and sanitation.

We're looking for a reliable, motivated Cook to join our team at Home of the Innocents. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and a commitment to preparing high-quality meals. A Day in the Life

As a Cook you will follow recipes, prepare and serve food and ensure that quality food service is always maintained by following established policies and procedures.

Shifts Available
  • Full time; hours will vary by department needs
  • Rotating weekend shifts will be required
How This Position Contributes to our Mission
  • Ensure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
  • Prep and cook meal items as directed by the Kitchen Manager or Director of Food Services.
  • Complete necessary paperwork, forms, data collection, and temperature logs daily.
  • Maintain cleanliness in work areas by adhering to established cleaning schedules, ensuring equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored and in good working order.
  • Follow all food safety procedures, including proper handwashing, safe food handling, and proper sanitation.
  • Assist with departmental projects as assigned or required.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English.
