Job summary

Home of the Innocents is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide compassionate care for children at our Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center in Louisville, KY. The role supports mobility, feeding, personal care, and therapeutic interactions in a trauma-informed environment.

We offer flexible scheduling with days and nights (7 AM–7 PM, 7 PM–7 AM) and full-time or part-time options (24, 30, 36 hours per week). Competitive benefits and opportunities for training are included.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Current CPR / Basic Life Support certification for healthcare providers, provided if needed.
• Current State Registered Nurse Aide certification in good standing with Kentucky Board of Nursing / State Nurse Aide Registry.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with mobility, feeding, and personal care within CNA scope.
• Engage with residents with empathy and therapeutic communication.
• Help organize activities and maintain a clean, welcoming environment for residents.
• Participate in onsite and offsite activities and appointments, including transfers.
• Follow safety and infection control procedures to protect residents and staff.

A Day in the Life

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will work collaboratively to ensure residents of the Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center receive the highest quality of care. The Home of the Innocents strives to create an environment in which children, families, and team members thrive.

Days: 7 AM - 7 PM

Nights: 7 PM - 7 AM

Full Time and Part Time Schedules Available*: 24, 30, 36 hours per week

• Assist residents with mobility, feeding, and personal care within the CNA scope of practice, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
• Engage with residents in a way that's tailored to their needs, fostering therapeutic connections and brightening their day.

• Participate and assist with onsite and offsite activities and appointments which can include physically assisting with resident mobility and transfers.

Skills and Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Demonstrated use of good judgment, clinical expertise, and effective communication skills to deliver top-quality resident care.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating flexibility, integrity, and compassion when caring for individuals with diverse backgrounds and functional abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with nursing and other department personnel.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
