Job summary

Brentwood Country Club in Los Angeles is seeking a Line Cook to help launch our brand-new culinary program. You will work alongside a renowned chef to prepare, cook and plate California-inspired dishes, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, speed and consistency in a team-oriented environment.

This full-time, in-person role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow recipes, and a dedication to food safety.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years culinary experience.
  • Strong adherence to recipes and standards.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to read and follow production sheets.
  • English language ability required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare items according to recipes and standards.
  • Set up station with correct amount of food and supplies.
  • Maintain clean, safe workstation and proper food handling.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation for consistency.
  • Assist in receiving, storing and rotating inventory.
  • Support team during busy periods and closing duties.
  • Follow health and safety standards at all times.

Brentwood Country Club is looking for a Line Cooks to help elevate our brand-new look culinary program. Job Summary:

The Cook assists the culinary team in providing high standards of service and cooking to members while practicing BCC‘s policies and procedures. Prepares and cooks food with attention to cleanliness and sanitation, quality standards and taste, timeliness and cost effectiveness. Maintains a clean, organized and safe workstation. Will ensure that the food quality, portioning and presentation reflect our promise for serving fresh California Cuisine.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently. Some requirements may exclude individuals who pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves, other employees or members.

  • 1. Prepares food items according to BCC standard recipes and/or as specified.
  • 2. Set station on time with the appropriate amount of food and supplies for the projected business and maintain clean.
  • 3. Works off production sheets and Prep List.
  • 4. Ensures quality control and consistency including: Foods are stored properly to include wrapped, labeled, and dated with expiration dates. Proper taste and presentation of menu items. Maintain a clean, neat and
    well-organized work area.
  • 5. Safely and properly clean and use equipment.
  • 6. Displays work habits that promote accident prevention.
  • 7. Assists in monitoring inventory items, communicate product needs with supervisor.
  • 8. Works as a team in performing closing and cleaning duties.
  • 9. Maintains kitchen equipment clean and in good working order and report necessary repairs to supervisor.
  • 10. Assists in receiving, storing and rotating food properly when it is received.
  • 11. Ensures food production is to the highest standards.
  • 12. Promotes and practices standards of excellence and professionalism on the line.
  • 13. Close station including cleaning procedures. .
  • 14. Maintains cleanliness of kitchen and equipment.
  • 15. Follow established health and safety standards that comply with state, local, Food Safety, and Health Department regulations.
  • 16. Assists chefs with preparation of food for the restaurant, banquets and all assigned duties.
  • 17. Performs others tasks as requested.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Minimum of 2+ years culinary experience in specified area or training equivalent.
  • Demonstrates a can do attitude.
  • Conversational English vocabulary.
  • Proven ability to follow directions and follow recipes.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation regulations and preparation procedures.
  • Knowledge of Health Department regulations and state, local, Food Safety,
  • Ability to focus attention to details in performing repetitive tasks. with a high level of accuracy
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks with the ability to prioritize work assignments.
  • Excellent guest service skills and attitude.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a team oriented, fast paced environment that fosters creativity.
  • Ability to prepare food according to standardized recipes and kitchen standards.
  • Ability to prioritize, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carryout detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Must maintain a sense of urgency work under pressure to meet deadlines
Education and Experience:
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language.
  • Culinary Degree or Certificate from an accredited establishment.
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing, Bending, Squatting, Kneeling.

Repetitive use of hand required, Pushing and Pulling, Twisting

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
