We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Cook to join our Dietary Department team at Bella Terra Lombard. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing meals correctly and timely, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest standard of sanitation and safety in the kitchen.
As a Cook, you will be accountable to the Dietary Manager and will be responsible for:
Preparing and portioning hot and cold menu items according to recipes and production sheets
Serving meals to residents according to correct meal service times
Coverage for staff members who call out due to illness
Assuring all food and equipment temperatures are recorded by meal
Maintaining highest standard of sanitation as required by state Department of Health regulations
Practicing clean and safe work environment
High School or Culinary Tech Graduate
Ability to read, understand, and follow recipes, production sheets, diet orders, tray tickets, and employee work responsibilities and flows
Understand and train on computer software system for resident information and preferences
Must be ServSafe Certified or able to earn certification within the first 90 days of starting
Work under the direction of the Dietary Manager
Daily activities include but are not limited to:

Maintaining highest standard of sanitation as required by state Department of Health regulations
Practicing clean and safe work environment
Daily resident and facility employee interaction to assure residents are satisfied and being provided correctly
Tracking inventory and communicating with the Dietary Manager and low supplies or placing orders for needed items
Labeling, wrapping, and dating all unused food items in the correct areas
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
Support and follow Pollak Innovation Management and facility Policies and Procedures
Willing to work flexible work hours
Conduct daily huddle meetings for staff communication and direction
Disciplining staff not completing their job assignments correctly
Assuring staff is clocking in on time as per their schedule
