Job summary

Nivram Management is seeking a Dietary Cook for a Nursing facility. The Cook prepares and assists with food preparation for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ensuring meals meet federal, state, and local standards and our established policies.

The Cook may be directed by the Dietitian to assure quality food service. Join our team to support residents with nutritious meals and coordinate with the facility's dietary staff to implement necessary changes.

Qualifications

• Dietary/food experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or related medical facility preferred.
• Illinois Food Service Sanitation certification required.
• Must be able to read, speak and write English clearly.
• Must be able to move intermittently and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation and hygienic methods.
• Coordinate food services with other departments as necessary.
• Work with the facility's dietitian and implement recommended changes as required.
• Ensure that all food service procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation and hygienic methods
• Coordinate food services with other departments as necessary
• Work with the facility's dietitian and implement recommended changes as required
• Ensure that all food service procedures are followed in accordance with established policies
• Cook a variety of foods in large quantities
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Dietary/food experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred
• Must have Illinois Food Service Sanitation certification
• Must be knowledgeable of dietary procedures
• Must be able to read, speak and write the English language in an understandable manner
• Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with the residents, personnel, and support agencies
• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
• Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Maintain a professional appearance at all times
