Job summary

Senior Solutions Management Group is seeking a Dietary Cook to prepare meals for regular and therapeutic diets, following planned menus and safety regulations. You will maintain clean work areas, monitor temperatures, and assist with special events to support residents with nutritious, appetizing meals.

Experience with food handling, taste testing, and keeping to schedules is essential; ServSafe certification is a big plus.

Qualifications

• Prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu.
• Follow proper food handling and safety techniques according to established policies and regulations.
• Maintain the proper temperature of food during preparation and service.
• Keep work area clean and uncluttered during preparation and service of food.
• Washes pots, pans, serving utensils, etc. according to established procedures.
• Make recommendations regarding improvements in recipes, menus, production and service of food.

Responsibilities

• Record temperatures of food according to established policy.
• Serve meals in an attractive, appetizing manner.
• Serve meals according to established time schedules.
• Label, date and store food according to established policies.
• Ensure refrigerator/freezer temperatures are within the appropriate range.
• Wash dishes and utensils according to established procedures.
• Provide improvements recommendations for recipes, menus, production and service of food.

• Use proper technique to taste prepared food to ensure quality taste and palatability prior to service
• Maintain the proper temperature of food during preparation and service
• Record temperatures of food according to established policy
• Ensures that the food is served in an attractive, appetizing manner
• Ensures that meals are sent from the kitchen or serving area according to established time schedules
• Properly label, date and store food according to established policies
• Ensures that refrigerator/freezer temperatures are within the appropriate range
• Washes pots, pans, serving utensils, etc. according to established procedures for manual and/or automatic dishwashing
• Make recommendations regarding improvements in recipes, menus, production and service of food, equipment, etc.
