Job summary

Senior Solutions Management Group is seeking a dedicated dietary cook to support our senior residents with regular and therapeutic meals. You will prepare meals per the planned menu, follow safety procedures, and help ensure high-quality service for events throughout the year.

The role requires handling diverse diets, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and contributing to menu improvements. This full-time position notes alternating weekends and holiday availability, with SERVSAFE certification

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu
• Follow proper food handling and food safety techniques according to established policies and regulations
• Ensure that the proper quantity of food is prepared
• Prepare food for special events as instructed by the supervisor
• Keep work area clean and uncluttered during preparation and service of food
• Use proper tasting techniques to ensure quality and palatability prior to service
• Maintain the proper temperature of food during preparation and service
• Record temperatures of food according to established policy
• Serve meals in an attractive, appetizing manner
• Ensure meals are sent from kitchen/serving area according to established time schedules
• Label, date and store food according to established policies
• Maintain refrigerator/freezer temperatures within the appropriate range
• Wash pots, pans, serving utensils, etc., according to procedures
• Make recommendations regarding improvements in recipes, menus, production and service of food, equipment, etc.

Dietary Cook Responsibilities:

• Prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu
• Follow proper food handling and food safety techniques according to established policies and regulations
• Ensures that the proper quantity of food is prepared
• Prepare food for special events as instructed by the supervisor

• Use proper technique to taste prepared food to ensure quality taste and palatability prior to service
• Maintain the proper temperature of food during preparation and service
• Record temperatures of food according to established policy
• Ensures that the food is served in an attractive, appetizing manner
• Ensures that meals are sent from the kitchen or serving area according to established time schedules
• Properly label, date and store food according to established policies
• Ensures that refrigerator/freezer temperatures are within the appropriate range
• Washes pots, pans, serving utensils, etc. according to established procedures for manual and/or automatic dishwashing
• Make recommendations regarding improvements in recipes, menus, production and service of food, equipment, etc.
