Ten Broeck Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Lake Katrine, NY is seeking a Dietary Cook to prepare and serve meals for residents and staff in accordance with health regulations and dietary guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals for residents and staff in accordance with food safety regulations and dietary recommendations.
• Maintain high standards of food preparation, sanitation, storage, and portion control.
• Determine food and supplies needed for daily menus and obtain supplies in time for adequate production.
• Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours while preserving quality, temperature, and appearance.
• Assist in scheduled cleaning duties following established sanitary standards.
• Participates in departmental studies and projects as assigned and represents the facility at meetings.

Dietary Cook Major Duties and Critical Tasks:

• Prepare and serve meals for residents and staff in accordance with food safety regulations and within physician’s/nutritionists’ dietary recommendations
• Maintain high standard of food preparation, sanitation, storage, and portion control
• Determine food and supplies needed for daily menus; obtain supplies in time for adequate production
• Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that quality, temperature, and appearance of food is preserved
• Assist in scheduled cleaning duties following established sanitary standards

Dietary Cook Other Duties:

• Participates and assists in departmental studies and projects as assigned or as may become necessary.
• Represents the facility at and participates in meetings as required
• Assists in standardizing work methods.
• As the job description may not be all-inclusive, the employee is expected to perform other essential functions and duties as assigned.
