Job summary

Cotton Culinary is seeking a Catering Cook in Katy, TX to lead meal execution for large-scale events and deliver high-quality dishes. This hands-on role supports the kitchen team in preparing and presenting meals that reflect Cotton’s high standards.

You will oversee banquet service, manage food preparation, and ensure timely delivery while maintaining safety and quality. Travel nationwide and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of commercial cooking experience.
  • Formal culinary training or certifications are a plus.
  • Experience in banquet or catering environments, focusing on meal prep and execution.
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationwide.

  • Lead Menu Execution: Oversee every aspect of meal preparation and service during large-scale banquets and events.
  • Hands-On Cooking: Be an integral part of the kitchen team, preparing, cooking, and presenting meals to ensure a top-tier culinary experience.
  • Ensure Quality & Efficiency: Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation, ensuring meals are served on time and to the client's satisfaction.
  • Inventory Reporting: Provide input on inventory, storage, and rotation of ingredients, ensuring that everything is prepared in compliance with safety and health regulations.
  • Client Relations: Serve as the main point of contact for clients during events, providing excellent service and resolving any issues in real-time.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Education & Experience:

  • 2-5 years of commercial cooking experience, with a focus on quality and high-volume events.
  • Formal culinary training or additional certifications are a plus.
  • Experience in banquet or catering environments, focusing on meal preparation and flawless execution.
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability and availability to travel nationwide.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expert knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and efficient kitchen.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to maintain client relationships and handle high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency with commercial kitchen equipment and experience in maintaining food safety standards.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and adapt to the physical demands of the job.
