Job summary

Layne's Chicken Fingers in Texas since 1994 is seeking a Cook to prepare our chicken, breading it with our seasoned mix and fry to perfection in our fryers. You will also toast our Texas bread and grill cheese and bacon for our club sandwiches as part of our fun, non-corporate culture.

You will join a team that values leadership training, life skills, and real-world experience while having fun serving guests. Must be able to work flexible hours and stay on pace with demand.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Be willing and able to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to lift and carry 55 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare chicken, breading and fry to perfection in state-of-the-art fryers.

THE ROLE:

As a Cook, your main responsibilities will be to prepare our chicken, breading it in our uniquely seasoned breading and frying it to perfection in our state-of-the-art fryers, manning our griddle plate where we toast our authentic Texas toasting bread, and grill our cheese and bacon for our famous club sandwiches. A huge part of who we are and what we are about is our fun-loving, non-corporate environment, so as a Layne's Line Cook you will be part of our culture which ensures everyone has fun while we serve our guests our "Soon to be Famous"™ Chicken Fingers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Communicate with the front cashier and drive thru on the number of customers present.
• Communicate with other cooks on food status and speed.
• Assist with prep.
• Ensure the kitchen remains immaculate, cleaning as often as possible
• Keep up to pace with orders from both the front and drive thru.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Be willing and able to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to lift and carry 55 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Have experience in a fast-food concept.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
