The Veterans Home at Holyoke, part of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, is seeking a Cook for its Dietary Department. This full-time role (40 hours/wk, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM) includes an alternating weekend and holiday schedule and serves veterans and staff with nutritious meals prepared from standardized recipes.
Responsibilities include preparing meals per diet orders, checking trays, assisting with storage and waste reduction, supervising staff when needed, and adhering to ServSafe standards.

The Veterans Home at Holyoke is seeking a talented and skilled individual to join our Dietary Department as a Cook. The ideal candidate is passionate about building meaningful relationships and can provide outstanding service to our veteran and staff populations.
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, working 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. It includes an alternating weekend and holiday schedule.

Applicants must have at least (A) one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in the preparation and cooking of food in a hotel, restaurant, cafeteria, catering firm, government or private institution, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Substitutions: I. A diploma or certificate from a recognized trade, technical or vocational school, at high school level or higher, with a major in culinary arts, food services or food trades may be substituted for the required experience.
