Job summary

Hiawatha Care Center is seeking a Cook to prepare nutritious, high-quality meals for our residents, working with the dietary team to meet dietary requirements and ensure a safe, enjoyable dining experience.

We offer full-time days (5:30AM–1:45PM) or (10:45AM–7PM) with benefits including health, dental, vision and life insurance, 401(k) with company match, PTO and EAP; prior cooking experience and knowledge of food safety are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have some cooking experience.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to prepare meals in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills are required.
• Teamwork and collaboration with dietary staff are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and recipes.
• Follow therapeutic diet requirements and physician orders.
• Maintain food quality, portion control, and presentation standards.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Assist with inventory, food storage, and kitchen cleanliness.
• Work collaboratively with the dietary team to ensure excellent meal service.

As a Cook, you will work closely with the dietary team to provide a safe and enjoyable dining experience.
