Job summary

Lunchtime Solutions, Inc. is hiring a dependable Cook for the on-site Hastings Public School kitchen.

You will prepare nutritious meals, follow recipes, and ensure meals are ready for serving times while keeping safety and cleanliness in focus. This role offers a Monday–Friday daytime schedule (8am–2pm), the chance to work with students, a built-in work-life rhythm, and benefits including a 401(k), paid time off, paid holidays, and a free meal each shift.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals by following provided recipes and ensure everything is ready for scheduled serving times.
• Support daily meal operations by forecasting, preparing special diets, assisting with events, and stocking/serving menu items during service.
• Maintain food safety and HACCP logs, monitor participation trends, and ensure compliance with HHFKA guidelines.
• Keep the kitchen clean and organized, manage storage areas using FIFO, and maintain a safe work environment.
• Communicate with supervisors, staff, and customers to ensure smooth operations and excellent service.
• Help train new staff and fill in other roles when needed.

Schedule: Monday–Friday 8am-2pm

Lunchtime Solutions is seeking a dependable, team‑focused Cook to join our school food service program. What You’ll Do

• Prepare and cook high‑quality meals by following provided recipes and ensure everything is ready for scheduled serving times.
• Support daily meal operations by assisting with forecasting, preparing special diet items, helping with special events, and stocking/serving menu items during service.
• Maintain food safety and compliance by following HHFKA serving guidelines, completing HACCP logs and production records, and monitoring participation trends.
• Keep the kitchen running smoothly through regular cleaning, organizing storage areas using FIFO practices, and maintaining a safe, healthy work environment.
• Communicate and collaborate with supervisors, team members, school staff, and customers to ensure smooth operations and great service.
• Contribute to team growth by helping train new staff and filling in in other roles when needed.

What You Bring

• 1 year food service experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform frequent standing, bending, twisting, and other physical tasks.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to follow recipes, measure ingredients, and convert quantities for large batches.
• Dependability, integrity, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
