Job summary

Lunchtime Solutions is seeking a dependable, team-focused Cook to join our school food service program at Madison School District. The on-site role offers a Monday–Friday daytime schedule (6:30am–2pm) with no late nights, holidays, or weekends and a strong emphasis on a healthy work-life balance.

You will prepare nutritious meals following provided recipes, support daily meal operations, and maintain food safety standards.

Qualifications

• 1 year food service experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Ability to follow recipes, measure ingredients, and convert quantities for large batches
• Dependability, integrity, and a commitment to excellent customer service

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals by following provided recipes and ensure everything is ready for scheduled serving times
• Support daily meal operations by assisting with forecasting, preparing special diet items, helping with special events, and stocking/serving menu items during service
• Maintain food safety and compliance by following HHFKA serving guidelines, completing HACCP logs and production records, and monitoring participation trends
• Keep the kitchen running smoothly through regular cleaning, organizing storage areas using FIFO practices, and maintaining a safe, healthy work environment
• Communicate and collaborate with supervisors, team members, school staff, and customers to ensure smooth operations and great service
• Contribute to team growth by helping train new staff and filling in in other roles when needed
