Responsibilities include food preparation, timely meal service, kitchen sanitation, staff training support, inventory tracking, and adherence to health regulations. A high school diploma and prior cooking experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous cooking experience in a senior living, healthcare, or restaurant setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring nutritious, appetizing meals per dietary requirements and resident preferences.
  • Meal Service: Serve meals timely with high quality, proper portions and presentation.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen with proper storage and handling of supplies.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff; assist in training new staff as needed.
  • Inventory Control: Track food supplies and report shortages or order needs.
  • Resident Engagement: Accommodate residents’ dietary requests and preferences.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations and sanitation practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring food is nutritious, appetizing, and prepared according to dietary requirements and resident preferences.
  • Meal Service: Ensure meals are served in a timely manner, maintaining high standards of quality, portion control, and presentation.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment by following food safety and sanitation procedures. Ensure proper storage and handling of food supplies.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and quality service. Assist in training new kitchen staff as needed.
  • Inventory Control: Assist with inventory management and help track food supplies. Report shortages or order needs to the Dietary Manager.
  • Resident Engagement: Respond to special dietary requests and accommodate residents’ food preferences, ensuring satisfaction with meals served.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including safe food handling and proper sanitation practices.
Qualifications:
