Job summary

Discovery Commons North Shore, part of the Discovery Management Group, is seeking a Cook to join our team in a senior living community. You will prepare hot and cold menu items across grill, sauté, salad-bar, and service lines, while ensuring proper portions and adherence to recipes for quality and consistency.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in senior living preferred.
• Great organizational skills a must.
• Strong communication skills required.
• Attention to detail and presentation of food products is required.
• Must be able to work weekends.

• Prepare hot and cold menu items on grill, sauté station, salad-bar and service line.
• Ensure proper preparation, portioning and serving per menu cycle and recipes.
• Taste and determine quality and palatability of foods.

Cook Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold menu items which requires working on the grill, sauté station, salad-bar and on the service line;
• Ensure the proper preparation, portioning and serving of foods as indicated on the menu cycle and the standardized recipes;
• Taste and prepare food to determine quality and palatability.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Senior Living preferred
• Experience with production methods, portion control and food handling safety required.
• Great organizational skills a must
• Strong communication skills
• Attention to detail and presentation of food product is required.
• Must be able to work weekends.
