United Methodist Communities is seeking a dedicated Cook for Bristol Glen in Newton, NJ. This full-time role involves preparing and serving meals to meet quality and safety standards, with duties spanning kitchen prep, food safety adherence, and collaboration with dining services.

The position offers a pay range of $18.35–$19.65 per hour based on experience, demonstrated by a 5:30am–2pm schedule, five days per week with alternating weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• 1-2 years of cooking and meal preparation experience.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve quality meals meeting established standards for taste, appearance, consistency, and safe serving temperatures.
• Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and storage procedures during preparation, service, and kitchen maintenance.
• Follow recipes, portion controls, and cooking methods to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Assist with dining services across multiple areas, including daily meal periods and special events.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment per policies and health regulations.
• Collaborate with teammates to ensure timely meal production and positive dining experiences.
• Assist with routine cleaning, stocking, and kitchen organization duties.

What You’ll Do:
