Job summary

Cardinal Bay, Village on the Park Friendswood, is seeking a Full-time Cook to continue our compassionate dining program for residents.

You will prepare meals, accommodate dietary needs, craft gravies and sauces from scratch, ensure appealing presentation, and maintain a clean, efficient kitchen while collaborating with our Culinary Director.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience as a prep cook.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and colleagues.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Prepares or assists in the preparation of complete meals.
• Ensures dietary needs of residents are met.
• Creates gravies, sauces, and menu items from scratch.
• Ensures dishes are well presented.
• Maintains a sanitized, orderly kitchen and proper equipment shutdown.
• Assists in inventory to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
• Shifts: 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., Wed–Sat; weekends/holidays required.

Village on the Park Friendswood is seeking a Full-time Cook to continue our story of compassionately caring for our residents.

Shifts:

• 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
• Wednesday - Saturday
• Includes weekend and holiday shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares or assist in preparation of complete meals - preparing and cooking soups, meats, gravies, vegetables, desserts, salads, baked goods, etc.
• Complies with all special dietary needs or restrictions of residents ensuring everyone enjoys their meals. We provide clear instructions to help you meet the dietary needs ofour residents.
• Create gravies, sauces, and menu items from scratch, showcasing our culinary creativity.
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are serve, elevating the dining experience.
• Monitor all food items for compliance with guidelines for temperature, taste and quality, tastes food to determine quality. Taste food to determine quality and adjust as necessary.
• Maintain a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment; ensuring all equipment is cleaned, working properly, and turned off before closing.
• Assist in properly utilizing inventory to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 months experience as a prep cook (preferred)
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and colleagues.
• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Ability to speak, read & write English.
• Must be willing to undergo a routine background check.
