Job summary

Stoney Brook of Belton is seeking a Full-time Cook to join our dining team at 4-K Housing. The role prepares complete meals, adheres to dietary needs, creates gravies and sauces, and ensures attractive plating. You will work with the culinary team to deliver meals that nourish residents and reflect restaurant-quality service.

Shifts run 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.–6:30 p.m., Friday–Tuesday with weekends and holidays on rotation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience as a prep cook (preferred).
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and colleagues.
• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Ability to speak, read & write English.
• Must be willing to undergo a routine background check.

Responsibilities

• Prepares or assist in preparation of complete meals - preparing and cooking soups, meats, gravies, vegetables, desserts, salads, baked goods, etc.
• Complies with all special dietary needs or restrictions of residents ensuring everyone enjoys their meals.
• Create gravies, sauces, and menu items from scratch, showcasing our culinary creativity.
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are serve, elevating the dining experience.
• Monitor all food items for compliance with guidelines for temperature, taste and quality.
• Maintain a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment; ensuring all equipment is cleaned, working properly, and turned off before closing.
• Assist in properly utilizing inventory to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
