Job summary

Careage Patriots Landing in Washington state is seeking a Cook to join our assisted living community. You will prepare fresh, nutritious meals that support resident health and happiness, following menus and dietary needs while keeping the kitchen clean and organized.

This full-time role offers growth within a supportive team environment and opportunities to advance in a caregiving-driven setting.

Qualifications

• Washington State Food Handler’s Permit required.
• Must be dependable.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be in good health and physically/mentally capable of performing assigned tasks.
• Must possess knowledge of safe sanitation practices, safety practices and special diets.
• Must be able to work in Bellevue, WA.
• At least 1 year of experience working in a food service setting.
• Ability to follow recipes, read instructions and communicate in English.
• Have a willingness to learn and a positive attitude working with a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of fresh meals based on daily menus and the dietary needs of residents.
• Interact with residents on a daily basis to ascertain their views, suggestions and concerns on meals served at the direction of Food Service Director.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized and fully stocked.
• Properly store, label and rotate food to maintain quality and safety standards.
• Maintain and record proper temperature controls, food storage and food rotation.
• Adhere to safety and sanitary practices.
• Support teammates to keep the kitchen running effectively and positively.
• Take pride in every plate that is sent out to ensure mealtime is a highlight for residents.
