Job summary

Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center in Duluth, MN is seeking a dependable Cook to join our Dietary team. This role prepares meals per menus and dietary requirements while upholding food safety standards and quality.

The Cook will work across various shifts, collaborating with dietary and nursing staff to ensure timely, appetizing meals for residents. Previous healthcare or senior living experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and resident-focused service.

Qualifications

• Prior cooking experience, preferably in healthcare or senior living.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation and safe handling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.
• Prepare food in appropriate quantities while maintaining quality and presentation.
• Follow residents' prescribed diets, food preferences, and special dietary needs.
• Maintain proper food temperatures and follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Assist with meal service and ensure meals are served accurately and on time.
• Properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies.
• Monitor food inventory and communicate supply needs to the Dietary Manager.
• Keep kitchen, equipment, work areas, and food preparation areas clean and sanitary.
• Follow infection control and workplace safety procedures.
• Work cooperatively with dietary staff, nursing staff, and other members of the care team.
• Provide friendly and respectful service to residents and respond appropriately to their needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Shift: Various shifts may be available, including weekends and holidays

What You'll Do

• Ability to remain organized and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift, carry, and move kitchen supplies as required.
