Job summary

Deptford Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Deptford, NJ is hiring a Dietary Cook to join our skilled nursing facility kitchen. The successful candidate will prepare, cook, and serve a variety of foods, and bake rolls, cookies, cakes, and pies for residents.

This role requires a healthcare cooking certification (ServSafe or Sodexo), at least one year of large-scale cooking experience, and the ability to work on the tray line, maintain cleanliness, and support the kitchen team including

Qualifications

• Healthcare cooking certification (ServSafe or Sodexo) required.
• Minimum one year of experience in large-scale cooking.
• Strong knowledge of large-scale and therapeutic food preparation.
• Ability to perform physical tasks in a kitchen environment.
• Must be a strong team player.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Willing to cover kitchen in absence of the Food Service Director.

DUTIES:

• Preparation, cooking, and service of a variety of foods
• Baking a variety of rolls, cookies, cakes, and pies
• Working on tray line during meal service
• General cleaning up of kitchen
• Hand washing and sanitizing of pot and pans
• Related work as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Certification in healthcare cooking (ServSafe or Sodexo)
