Job summary

Oak Hill Manor is seeking an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team. Our residents enjoy three meals daily, and you will play a key role in enhancing their quality of life through quality meal preparation.

Responsibilities include preparing and serving meals in a LTC & SNF setting, supervising tray lines, maintaining sanitation, and supporting evening staff. Supervisory experience is a plus and Serv-Safe certification is required.

Qualifications

• Certification in Serv-Safe or healthcare cooking is required.
• Minimum one year of experience in large-scale cooking.
• Strong knowledge of large-scale & therapeutic food prep.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, bake and serve a variety of foods in a long-term care and skilled nursing setting.
• Prepare foods to proper consistencies and supervise tray line during meal service.
• Ensure tray-line and meals are prepared in a time-efficient manner.
• Oversee hand-washing and sanitizing of pots and pans; general kitchen cleaning.
• Supervise evening staff and closing procedures; management experience a plus.

DUTIES:

• Preparation of cooking, baking and servicing a variety of foods in a LTC & SNF setting
• Preparing foods to proper consistencies
• Working & Supervising on tray line during meal service
• Ensuring tray-line & meals are being prepared in a time-efficient manner
• Overseeing the Hand-washing and sanitizing of pot and pans
• Overseeing the General cleaning up of kitchen
• Responsible for overseeing evening staff & closing of the kitchen
• Supervisory experience is a Plus

REQUIREMENTS:

• Certification in healthcare cooking (Serv-Safe)
• Minimum one (1) year of experience in large-scale cooking
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Strong knowledge of large scale & therapeutic food prep
• Should have Management Experience
• Excellent customer service & communication skills
• Will & is able to manage Kitchen in absence of Food Service Director
