Job summary

The Parc at Sharon Amity in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team and prepare nutritious, appetizing meals for residents while following dietary requirements. You will work with the Dietary Manager to ensure timely meal service, maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen, assist with inventory, and support residents with their dietary preferences.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals according to menus, meeting dietary needs.
  • Serve meals in a timely manner with quality and portion control.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen following safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with Dietary Manager and kitchen staff; train new staff as needed.
  • Assist with inventory and report shortages or orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring food is nutritious, appetizing, and prepared according to dietary requirements and resident preferences.
  • Meal Service: Ensure meals are served in a timely manner, maintaining high standards of quality, portion control, and presentation.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment by following food safety and sanitation procedures. Ensure proper storage and handling of food supplies.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and quality service. Assist in training new kitchen staff as needed.
  • Inventory Control: Assist with inventory management and help track food supplies. Report shortages or order needs to the Dietary Manager.
  • Resident Engagement: Respond to special dietary requests and accommodate residents’ food preferences, ensuring satisfaction with meals served.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including safe food handling and proper sanitation practices.
