About This Position

The Cook is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing various food items according to work instructions, menus, and guidelines, while following food safety procedures. The role requires experience in hot and cold food preparation and knowledge of standard knife cuts. The candidate must multitask, stay calm under pressure, and communicate effectively with team members to produce dishes timely.

Core Responsibilities
  • Refer to Daily Prep List and complete opening/closing checklists
  • Setup workstation with ingredients and equipment
  • Use kitchen utensils safely, including knives
  • Operate ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • Follow portion sizes, cooking methods, and recipes
  • Properly handle, store, label, and rotate products
  • Stock and maintain food levels at stations
  • Understand menu items and prep ingredients
  • Handle hot and cold conditions during food prep
  • Perform physical tasks like lifting and standing for long periods
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, at least 18 years old
  • Minimum one year of relevant cooking experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Experience in cafeteria or large-volume food service preferred
  • Knowledge of safety procedures in food environments
