Job summary

The Rivers at Maryland Farms in Brentwood, TN is seeking a dependable and talented Full-Time Cook to join our culinary team. You will prepare high-quality meals according to planned menus and recipes, ensuring flavor, nutrition, and proper temperatures for residents in a senior living setting.

We offer a competitive pay rate of $20–$22 per hour, next-day pay options, and a comprehensive benefits package including PTO and 401(k). Prior senior living or healthcare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of cooking or related food service experience required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Culinary education or equivalent professional cooking experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, proper food handling, and kitchen procedures.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality meals according to planned menus, standardized recipes, and established portion guidelines.
• Ensure meals are flavorful, attractive, nutritious, and served at the proper temperature.
• Assist with menu planning and food preparation as needed.
• Follow resident dietary requirements, including therapeutic and modified diets.
• Maintain proper sanitation, food safety, and cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen.
• Assist with cleaning cooking areas, kitchen equipment, and food preparation spaces.
• Properly store, label, rotate, and handle food in accordance with food safety standards.
• Work closely with the Dining Services team to ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
• Communicate with supervisors regarding menu planning, dietary needs, and other dining-related matters.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
