At DoubleTree by Hilton Baton Rouge, we are seeking a Part-Time Cook to join our culinary team. This role offers morning and evening hours to support work-life balance.

Overview

The Cook will prepare, season, and cook dishes such as soups, meats, vegetables, or desserts for the hotel.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain and strictly abide by State sanitation/Health regulations and Hotel requirements.
  • Check the quality of raw or cooked food products to ensure standards are met.
  • Prepare and cook foods of all types, either regularly or for special guests or functions.
  • Complete opening duties: set up workstation, inspect tools and equipment, check production schedule, establish priorities, and restock supplies.
  • Start prep work for daily menu items.
  • Inform F&B service staff of 86'd items and available menu specials throughout the meal period.
  • Maintain proper storage procedures as per Health Department and Hotel standards.
  • Perform closing duties: store leftover food properly, clean and organize prep and storage areas, and turn off equipment.
  • Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy; work collaboratively with team members; follow directions thoroughly; work with minimal supervision.
Education And Experience
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in food preparation and handling.
  • Culinary training or apprenticeship certification preferred.
