Job summary

The Sisters of Mercy of the Americas are seeking a dependable and experienced Cook to join our campus community in Auburn, California. This full-time role focuses on preparing nutritious meals and creating a welcoming dining experience for Sisters, guests, and retreat participants in a mission-driven setting.

Responsibilities include cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner from menus, ensuring safety and quality, maintaining a clean kitchen, managing inventory, and supporting catering for events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of professional cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare, assisted living, or similar food service setting.
• Valid California Food Handler Card.
• Experience preparing meals from standardized recipes.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screening, physical, and TB test.
