Island Hospitality is seeking a Cook to join our team in Virginia. You will showcase culinary skills by presenting, preparing, and cooking quality dishes while adhering to brand standards and IHM recipes. flexibility in scheduling is required as guest occupancy varies.

Responsibilities include cooking, plating, receiving orders, and maintaining a stocked, sanitary kitchen. This is a full-time position in a hotel kitchen, with opportunities for growth within the company.

Formación

Requirements

Job Requirements:

• Know local health and safety codes and regulations that apply to the hotel
• Ensuring the kitchen remains well-stocked at all times
• Receiving food and beverage orders as needed
• Follow provided brand and IHM recipes when cooking food to serve guests
• Preparing and plating all food items on the menu
• Using hot food preparation machines such as ovens, stoves, and microwaves to cook or heat food
• Cleaning and sanitizing tables, countertops, and floors after each service

Job Qualifications:

• Ability to follow brand and IHM standard operating procedures to prepare food and beverage items
• Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
• Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
• Ability to work well in stressful situations
• Basic knowledge of how to operate all Food and Beverage equipment

The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
